Army Command Headquarters Released a Press Release Explaining the Matter Regarding the Media Coverage of “Major Liu Chuan-Ji, Former Vice Captain of the Observation and Contact Company of the First Aviation Corps, Passed Away During Duty”.

Army Command Headquarters has stated today (8th) that major Liu Chuan-Ji, former vice captain of the Observation and Contact Company of the First Aviation Corps, passed away on 3rd May 1978 when flying a fixed-wing U-6A aircraft during flight mission, and the command headquarters hereby expresses its sympathy and condolences.

Army Command Headquarters pointed out that it has already expressed sympathy and condolences for the family, and fully assists with handling the application of placing the ashes of major Liu at the local Martyrs Shrine with the premise of respecting his family; the command headquarters also plans to establish a monument at the Longcheng Park of Aviation 601 Brigade for families and junior soldiers and officers to pay their respect to the dead.

Army Command Headquarters further expressed its gratitude to Bao Zheng-Hao, principal of Tamkang University, for his assistance towards living families, as well as the concern from each sector of the society; the command headquarters will remain contact with major Liu’s family to assist the latter with relevant subsequent matters.
